Don't do it nooo

Clue was talking to their 'sister' over a webcam and Dale was off in the background, thinking deeply about things. He wasn't listening to the two green-haired siblings, and it took a while for his train of thought to move to them. He was always curious about his wife and even after ten years, there was still a lot he had yet to ask. Namely about their species.

He had no idea what a Staryr was exactly. Sure they were short humanoids who acted a tad like canines, had star shaped hair, and an odd antennae. But that was all he knew. They had something to do with stars, hence their name, but other than that, nothing. Well, he knew about their genders, but that wasn't important.

Dale became particularly interested in Clue's 'antennae'. It looked like a lock of hair, but reacted to emotions and stuck up, defying gravity. It kind of reminded him of a lettuce-like vegetable. He hadn't ever touched it before, and wanted to. Was it sensitive? He had to know. As his wife talked to their sibling he got up and approached them from behind.

The female-looking being pointed him out and Clue looked up, "Dale what are you doing?" The king grabbed the antennae lightly. It was a solid thing, and wasn't hair. Clue froze. It was obviously sensitive as the queen's face went pink. Their sibling watched with wide eyes, her own antennae drooping. Dale did something unexpected, to the horror of the two siblings. He bit the antennae. He thought it would just amount to nothing, but it was very fragile and the chunk he had in his mouth broke off. It tasted like lettuce but blood came out of the chunk. He spat it out and looked at Clue.

Blood was trickling out of the antennae onto their head and they looked frozen. He stared, an uneasy feeling building up inside of him. A few moments passed before Clue slowly reached up to their damaged antennae before starting to tremble. Tears welled up and started to flow. "Oh noooo, hun nooo!" Dale hugged Clue, regretting what he had just done. "Noooo!"

Later, he looked at Clue, who appeared to be depressed about their poor antennae. He had wrapped it up in bandages and it was drooping, lying limply on Clue's head. He felt awful for making Clue so hurt and sad. But there was nothing he could do until the chunk grew back.
Dale is such a dummy.
